Job summary

Nortal seeks a Senior Software Engineer to drive technical direction across complex, distributed web systems. You will work primarily with Angular and TypeScript, advise on architecture, and lead design decisions while staying close to the client and teams.

Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in Angular and TypeScript.
• Understanding of different programming methodologies and when to apply each.
• Optimised SQL schemas and NoSQL trade-offs; performance and test management.
• Proficient in CI/CD and DevSecOps; able to introduce and set up practices for Agile teams.
• Comfortable presenting project status and concerns directly to the client.
• Good communication skills in English (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Identify technical solutions and design direction for engineers in distributed systems.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable, performant web applications.
• Review code for defects and standards; advise on new technologies/frameworks.
• Identify and resolve project and personnel conflicts; escalate as needed to leadership.
• Participate in technical leadership meetings with the client and assist with bids and proposals.
• Evaluate AI tools for the team and ensure compliance with data classifications.
