Job summary

Samsung Research America seeks an Android Systems Security Engineer to design and implement platform security features for Samsung's mobile products. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 3+ years with a Master's or PhD in CS/Cybersecurity or related field.
• 5+ years in a professional security role or equivalent.
• Deep knowledge of Android software stack including ARM/ARM64, Linux kernel, hypervisor, TrustZone and firmware.
• Experience with cryptography, secure coding, and exploit mitigations.
• Familiarity with applying AI to security workflows and research.

Responsibilities

• Build novel systems security features for Samsung devices with emphasis on ARM/ARM64, hypervisor, TrustZone, Linux kernel and firmware.
• Collaborate with product teams to refine threat models and security requirements.
• Design, prototype, and implement security features while evaluating performance tradeoffs.
• Communicate security designs and risk tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders.
• Apply secure coding practices to ensure security requirements are met by implementation.
• Use low-level debugging tools (JTAG, hardware debuggers, trace tools, emulation) to diagnose issues.
• Stay current with security features, vulnerabilities, and threats affecting Android/mobile devices.
• Research and innovate in security through patents/publications; leverage automation and AI to streamline work.
