Maplebear Inc. D/B/A ••••••••• in San Francisco, CA seeks Senior Mobile Engineer. You will design, maintain, and optimize large-scale Android and backend software systems, leading the end-to-end development lifecycle and delivering high-performance mobile solutions.

The role supports remote work anywhere in the continental US and offers a base pay range of $214,000–$222,000 USD, with equity grants and annual refresh grants. Strong ownership and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in CS/Software Engineering/Math or related field.
• 5 years of experience in the job offered or related.
• 2 years of experience in advanced Android development including MVVM/MVI architecture and DI frameworks such as Dagger or Hilt.
• 2 years of experience in Kotlin, Java, and SQL including asynchronous programming and thread safety.
• 2 years of experience with CI/CD automation, testing, monitoring using Buildkite or GitHub Actions for testing, release management, and analytics.
• 2 years of experience in Agile teams, with Git, documentation, code review, refactoring and debugging.
• 2 years of experience with Jira, Figma, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-performance mobile and distributed backend solutions.
• Lead end-to-end development lifecycle for applications from requirements to design.
• Create and maintain robust pipelines for rapid and reliable software delivery.
• Ensure security, data privacy, and compliance throughout the SDLC.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver new features.
• Other duties as assigned.
