Job summary

Strava is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join the Trust & Safety engineering team. You will own Android features, collaborate with Product, Design, and backend engineers, and help shape the mobile experience for millions of Strava users.

The role operates in a flexible hybrid model with on-site presence in San Francisco three days per week, contributing to a trustworthy platform and evolving product.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Android development in production environments.
• Experience with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience designing or consuming REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Strong fundamentals in architecture, performance, and testing.
• Willingness to grow into server-side and web front-end work.

Responsibilities

• Own Android on the Trust & Safety team and ship features reaching millions.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and back-end/iOS engineers to build solutions like abuse reporting and privacy controls.
• Work in a hybrid environment with cross-functional peers.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and pair programming.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development.
• Grow into back-end and front-end work over time.
