Job summary

Strava, Inc. in San Francisco seeks a Senior Android Engineer for the Trust & Safety team to design, build, and optimize features impacting millions of athletes.

You will own Android direction, ship user-focused safety features, and work with cross-functional teams in a flexible hybrid setting with three onsite days per week. You will collaborate with Product, Design, and backend/iOS engineers, mentoring peers and evolving your role to include backend and web frontend work as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building Android apps in production.
• Proficient with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Experience with Coroutines and Room.
• Experience designing or consuming REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Strong fundamentals in architecture, performance and testing.

Responsibilities

• Own Android on the Trust & Safety team, setting the technical direction and shipping features that reach millions of athletes.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and back-end/iOS engineers to build solutions like abuse reporting, privacy controls, and the U18 experience.
• Work alongside a close community of peers in a hybrid work environment.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and set the bar for Android quality across the company.
• Use the latest AI tools to find faster, smarter ways to build and ship software.
• Grow into back-end and front-end work over time as your scope on the team expands.
