Job summary

Clover seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the Integrated Payment Experience (IPX) to bridge Clover Android devices with backend services. You’ll focus ~80% on native Android development with Kotlin, Jetpack, and Clean Architecture and ~20% on Java backend microservices, API contracts, and security.

You’ll own multi-app fleets, develop SDKs and developer docs, implement secure tokenization, and collaborate with backend teams to deliver robust, scalable payment workflows across devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on native Android with backend Java.
• Experience building multi-app Android codebases, SDKs, or developer libraries.
• Hands-on experience designing RESTful APIs and Java backend microservices.
• Strong knowledge of payment lifecycles and security standards (PCI-DSS, tokenization).

Responsibilities

• Architect, modularize, and maintain 20+ native Android apps using Kotlin and Clean Architecture (~80%).
• Build, document, and support Clover SDKs and APIs for 3rd-party developers.
• Design and support lightweight Java backend microservices and gateways (~20%).
• Develop native apps on Clover Android hardware and SEMI integrations.
• Define robust RESTful API contracts with server teams.
• Enforce payment security protocols across apps, SDKs, and integrations.
• Own release operations for multi-app deployments across Clover devices.
• Other duties as needed.
