Job summary

HYPR, the Identity Assurance Company, is looking for a Senior Android Engineer to join our Engineering team and evolve HYPR’s Android applications and mobile authentication technology. You’ll design, develop, and maintain secure, high-quality Android apps as a core part of our identity platform.

You will work mainly with Java and Kotlin, collaborating with mobile, backend, QA, Product, and Security teams. You’ll have ownership over features from design to release, and contribute to tests,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong experience developing Android apps with Java and Kotlin.
• Solid CS fundamentals: OOD, data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis.
• Deep knowledge of Android architecture, patterns, and best practices.
• Experience integrating third-party libraries and SDKs.
• Experience working with HTTP and REST APIs.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills under time pressure.
• Ability to communicate technical challenges, solutions and tradeoffs clearly.
• Experience with Git and collaborating in teams.
• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications using Java and Kotlin.
• Build secure, reliable, and scalable mobile functionality as part of HYPR’s platform.
• Contribute to architecture and technical design of new Android features.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
• Integrate Android apps with backend services via HTTP/REST APIs.
• Integrate and maintain third-party libraries and SDKs.
• Apply strong OO design principles to solve engineering problems.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and identify root causes quickly.
• Communicate tradeoffs and recommendations effectively.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering standards.
• Collaborate across Engineering, QA, Product, and Security teams.
• Use Git and standard workflows to manage code and reviews.
• Contribute to documentation and project planning using Jira/Confluence.
• Stay current with Android platform changes and security practices.
