Job summary

7-Eleven, Inc. is seeking an experienced Software Engineer II to drive Android app development. You will collaborate across product, UI/UX, and business teams to design, estimate, and ship features, while modernizing code with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

You will participate in technical discussions, implement secure auth flows, and follow Agile practices with JIRA. Documentation and test-driven development are emphasised to ensure robust releases for US retail devices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• 5 years progressive experience in Android dev; Java exposure.
• 5 years Android apps: Java, Kotlin with TDD incl Robolectric/Mockito/Mockk.
• 3 years REST API integration with Retrofit and Material Design.
• 2 years Jetpack Compose, CI/CD, Gitlab/GitHub, and analytics tools (Mixpanel/New Relic/Crashlytics).

Responsibilities

• Execute full product lifecycle for Android apps bound for Google Play.
• Collaborate with product owners, scrum masters, UI/UX and business teams.
• Discuss and solve technical challenges; participate in architecture reviews.
• Use MVP/MVVM patterns and Jetpack Compose to build UI screens.
• Maintain docs and support Kotlin migration; ensure tests cover key flows.
