Job summary

Esri's Field Apps team is seeking a Senior Software Developer to lead Android app development for real-time field operations in Redlands, CA. You will shape architecture, mentor peers, and deliver offline-capable, high-performance mobile experiences with mapping and device integration.

You will collaborate across disciplines, tackle real-world requirements, and champion Android best practices. Esri offers relocation assistance to the Redlands area and a supportive environment for innovative GIS

Qualifications

5+ years of commercial software development experience.
Proficient in Kotlin and Android development.
Strong object-oriented design skills.
Experience with data structures and algorithms.
Performance optimization and caching for mobile apps.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics.

Responsibilities

Build the latest Android apps from architecture to design (ICS and up).
Join forces with other developers and designers throughout the development process.
Understand user requirements since these apps have to meet real world scenarios.
Develop software for use in field mapping, data collection, sensor networks, street navigation, and more.
Solve complex problems with design, development, and user experience.
Be an Android advocate within the company and at conferences; help us grow Android development capability throughout Esri.
