Weber Blackstone is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Android to lead the Weber Connect app—aligning architecture, code quality, and delivery with hardware teams. The role focuses on Android-driven, protocol-to-pixel features for connected grills, sensors, and accessories.

Hybrid work in Palatine, IL, with in-office days. You will guide Android engineers, shape testing, and drive a steady release cadence across devices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Android/mobile development experience.
• Experience shipping Android apps that communicate with external hardware (BLE) and wearables.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation of major features in the Weber Connect app.
• Partner with Firmware to define and version the messaging protocol between app and grill.
• Maintain app stability amid platform changes and hardware fleet versions.
• Build telemetry and diagnostics to debug connection problems.
• Drive a low-risk release cadence with CI/CD and feature flags.
