Job summary

Hinge is hiring a talented Android developer to help build and maintain the Android app used by millions. You will work on delivering new features, fixing issues, and enhancing the user experience with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, coroutines, and other modern Android tools.

Collaboration across product, design, data, and QA is essential as you contribute to high-impact mobile work. With 3–5 years of Android experience and a track record of publishing apps on Google Play, you will own and improve

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in Android development.
• Experience publishing at least one application on the Google Play Store.
• Proficient in Kotlin; strong understanding of Android SDKs. Java knowledge is a plus.
• Solid software development fundamentals and clean code practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ownership and a quality-focused mindset in building mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Cross-disciplinary collaboration with designers, product managers, data engineers, and QA to build features with high quality and engagement.
• Develop and enhance Android features using Kotlin and Android concepts.
• Gain and apply deep understanding of Android development principles and patterns to build intuitive apps.
• Triage, debug, and resolve issues to ensure app stability and performance.
• Contribute to long-term health of the codebase with best practices and improvements.
• Perform code reviews to provide constructive feedback and maintain code quality.
• Participate actively in team ceremonies and adopt agile methodologies.
• Communicate clearly with team members and other departments to enable a collaborative environment.
