Job summary

Walmart Inc. is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to lead native Android development for Walmart Marketplace pre-purchase experiences.

You will design, implement, and maintain high-performance apps using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and MVVM/MVI architectures, collaborating with product, design, and backend teams to deliver scalable mobile solutions. You will mentor peers, drive architectural decisions, and contribute to AI-assisted development efforts to improve quality and velocity across Walmart

Qualifications

• Strong experience building and shipping large-scale native Android applications using Kotlin.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, Jetpack libraries, and modern architecture components.
• Familiar with MVVM/MVI, dependency injection (Hilt/Dagger), Coroutines, and Flow.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality native Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development best practices.
• Own end-to-end delivery of complex features, from technical design through testing and rollout.
• Build responsive, performant user experiences using Jetpack Compose and architecture patterns.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Backend, and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews to maintain quality.
• Monitor performance, startup time, memory, networking, and battery usage; optimize accordingly.
• Implement robust testing strategies including unit tests, UI tests, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Integrate APIs, offline data sync, push notifications, deep linking, analytics, and feature flags.
• Mentor engineers, contribute to documentation, and promote engineering best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve developer productivity and code quality.
