Job summary

New York Technology Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Mobile Developer to design, build, test, and maintain high‑quality Android applications using Kotlin. The role requires collaboration with product, design, backend, and QA to deliver reliable mobile solutions.

You will work with Jetpack Compose, MVVM/Clean Architecture, REST APIs, and modern Android tooling in a hybrid Portland, ME environment. This long‑term W2 contract emphasizes performance, security, and scalable architectures.

Qualifications

• Experience with Kotlin and native Android development.
• Strong knowledge of MVVM and Clean Architecture patterns.
• Proficient in Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI design.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and handling JSON authentication tokens.
• Implement offline caching strategies for responsive apps.
• Experience writing unit tests and performing UI tests.
• Ability to debug, profile performance, and resolve issues in production.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native Android apps using Kotlin.
• Build scalable, maintainable apps with Android SDK and modern architecture.
• Create responsive UIs following Material Design using Jetpack Compose.
• Integrate RESTful APIs and backend services into Android apps.
• Work with JSON, authentication, push notifications, and third‑party SDKs.
• Apply MVVM / Clean Architecture and design patterns; write clean, testable code.
• Write unit/UI tests and participate in code reviews; collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams.
• Ensure security, performance, and usability; support releases via CI/CD pipelines.
