Job summary

About the Position

Join a dynamic team of dedicated individuals who work to strengthen the communities in which we live! As the Senior and Adult Services Program Supervisor, you will lead the planning, oversight, and implementation of the Maricopa County Senior and Adult Independent Living (SAIL) Program, serving Maricopa County residents over age 60 and adults over 18 with disabilities who require additional support to maintain independent living. The Program Supervisor will supervise a team of 20 or more case manager supervisors and case aides and reports to the Assistant Director of the Senior Services and Community Resilience Division. While this position currently reports into an office in Downtown Phoenix, starting in November, the position will report into our office located at 2233 W. Dunlap in Phoenix.

This Division of Human Services works to provide housing stability for our most vulnerable residents, preventing eviction for low-income families and individuals, and supporting those experiencing homelessness. Our mission is accomplished by working in close partnership with many service providers across the County to ensure people can stay housed and that homelessness is rare, brief, and nonrecurring.

We Require

• Three years of professional experience supporting and/or managing programs for seniors or other vulnerable populations
• Bachelor's degree in social work, social services, public administration, business administrtion, or a closely related field

Other Requirements

• Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
• Must complete a background check and fingerprint identification upon hire to secure and maintain an Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card

Job Contributions

• Leads the senior services team by overseeing the coordination and implementation of the County's Senior and Adult Independent Living (SAIL) program, including collaboration with colleagues to establish goals, strategies, and priorities that are aligned with funder requirements and division and department goals and strategic planning
• Performs a full range of supervisory duties, including but not limited to hiring, terminations, performance management, training, establishing workload standards, determining work priorities, coaching staff, and ensuring the quality of customer service and work product outputs for the program
• Maintains program compliance and ensures that program operations remain within established timeframes, funding, and objectives
• Monitors program performance data and results and collaboratively implements process improvement strategies to support program outcomes and results; recommends and implements program or operational improvements, additions, or changes
• Develops and/or refines all senior services policies and procedures in alignment with funder requirements and County policies
• Develops program budget in collaboration with division leadership, participates in budget planning and research, identifies additional resources and funding opportunities, and monitors all program expenditures to ensure they are timely and appropriate
• Meets regularly with program funders to ensure program compliance, align on program priorities, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and establish and maintain collaborative relationships to maximize the success of the SAIL program
• Collaborates with partners (internal and external) to develop and maintain networks of community partners, identify gaps, provide program information and referral, and presents on programs and services and program outcomes

Working Conditions

Work is routinely performed in an office environment, which may require long periods of sitting, reading, and typing. Requires travel to program sites throughout Maricopa County, including to various county, client, and contractor locations during a scheduled workday, and is subject to County policies regarding the use of County vehicles and/or private vehicles used on County business.
