Avison Young is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to own and scale our analytics layer in Snowflake using dbt. This hands-on leadership role focuses on building high-quality, business-aligned data models that power reporting and data products across the organization.

You will act as a player‑coach, balancing hands-on development with leading other engineers while partnering with stakeholders to define metrics, data models, and semantic consistency.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering.
• Strong SQL and data warehousing concepts.
• Proven experience with dbt and Snowflake.
• Ability to lead projects or mentor team members as a player-coach.
• Familiarity with data quality testing and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, business‑aligned data models in Snowflake using dbt.
• Define semantic consistency across metrics, dimensions, and KPIs.
• Build and manage dbt projects with tests, documentation, and lineage.
• Develop Snowflake Cortex Search and semantic models for AI initiatives.
• Lead a small team of analytics/data engineers and drive delivery.
