Job summary

EF World Journeys is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to build trusted data products and scalable analytics for marketing, product, and operations. You will own data models, semantic layers, and data quality across brands, enabling AI-driven insights.

You’ll partner with analysts and stakeholders to shape questions, implement metrics, and mentor teammates while advancing our data platforms and self-serve capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in analytics engineering, analytics, or related data role.
• Strong SQL and hands-on modeling in a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred).
• Hands-on with dbt (Core/Cloud), including models, tests, and documentation.
• Experience defining shared metrics or a semantic layer that reporting, self-serve, or AI tools depend on.
• Partner with analysts and stakeholders to shape questions before you build.
• Experience mentoring, reviewing, or raising the bar for other engineers or analysts.
• Working proficiency in Python for data tooling and automation.
• Bonus: reverse ETL / data activation (Hightouch).
• Bonus: semantic layers or metric layers used by LLM-driven analytics.
• Bonus: GA4 event data and models connecting web behavior to outcomes.
• Bonus: measurement for experimentation, lifecycle, or marketing attribution.

Responsibilities

• Translate ambiguous business questions into trusted data products: datasets, metrics, and docs.
• Design and evolve the semantic layer to power dashboards and AI analytics.
• Build and own dbt models turning raw data into analytical datasets with single-source truth.
• Model GA4 and other analytics into datasets for marketing and product.
• Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to ensure the dataset informs decisions.
• Activate data into tools like marketing, CRM, and ads via reverse ETL.
• Create self-serve analytics, with clear metrics, semantic models, and lightweight AI workflows.
• Build data quality with automated tests and monitoring.
• Set the modeling bar and mentor others toward it.
• Help guide the direction of the analytical layer and shared models.
