Job summary

AITX Railcar Services, LLC seeks a Senior Analytics Engineer to design, build, and maintain enterprise analytics solutions. You will transform data into trusted, scalable information, from bronze to gold, and create reusable data products that improve reporting and decision-making across the organization.

You will partner with business and technology leaders to develop AI-ready data products, semantic models, and dashboards, driving analytics across operational, financial, and executive domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 7+ years in data engineering, analytics engineering, BI, or related roles.
• Experience designing dimensional and semantic data models.
• Experience developing modern dashboards and analytical apps.
• Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and business partner skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Power BI, and related Microsoft data technologies.
• Experience with medallion data architectures.
• Knowledge of APIs, cloud integration, and event-driven architectures.
• Understanding of emerging agentic AI solutions.
• Experience supporting AI, ML, or advanced analytics initiatives.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview or similar governance platforms.
• Experience working with ERP platforms such as SAP.
• Experience in regulated or asset-intensive industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain bronze to gold data products using medallion architecture.
• Develop scalable enterprise data models and semantic models for various analytics.
• Create reusable metrics and standardized calculations for consistent reporting.
• Maintain and enhance enterprise data products and semantic models.
• Develop scalable dashboards, scorecards, and self-service analytics.
• Translate business requirements into intuitive analytical solutions.
• Design reports to simplify environments, reduce redundancy, and improve usability.
• Rationalize enterprise reporting by retiring redundant reports and promoting governed semantic models.
• Improve reporting performance, adoption, and user experience.
• Collaborate with business leaders to identify opportunities to improve decision-making with data.
• Recommend solutions to simplify processes and deliver measurable value.
• Help establish KPIs aligned with objectives.
• Own analytics initiatives from requirements to implementation and enhancement.
• Partner with Data Governance to improve data quality, metadata, and lineage.
• Implement validation, reconciliation, and monitoring for trusted analytics outcomes.
• Document end-to-end data lifecycle from source to enterprise data products and reporting.
• Develop AI-ready data products and semantic models to support enterprise AI capabilities.
• Design and implement AI solutions including data agents and intelligent search.
• Collaborate with Data Science to enable advanced analytics on trusted assets.
• Support data platform modernization and continuous improvement initiatives.
