Position Summary

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will play a key role in developing innovative data solutions that drive business insights, improve efficiency, and deliver tangible value across the organization. This position involves leading analytics projects from concept to completion, enhancing data infrastructure, and mentoring team members to foster continuous growth. Your expertise will help shape data strategies that align with Empower’s mission of advancing healthcare through accessible, high-quality medications.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develops and manages analytics projects end-to-end, from ideation to deployment and monitoring, ensuring successful outcomes and alignment with business goals.
  • Identifies and resolves data issues, continuously improves infrastructure, and optimizes processes to deliver high-quality, reliable insights.
  • Proposes new analytics initiatives, building data-driven cases that highlight potential business value and impact.
  • Designs scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions to address ambiguous problems, applying technical expertise and structured thinking.
  • Mentors and supports junior team members, fosters knowledge sharing, and contributes to developing tools and libraries that enhance team productivity.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Proficient in Python, Structured Query Language, data modeling (Kimball, Data Vault 2.1), Extract, Transform, Load tools (Apache Hop, Data Build Tool [DBT]), and cloud platforms (Snowflake, Amazon Web Services [AWS], Azure).
  • Strong communication, data storytelling, and visualization skills (Power Business Intelligence (BI), Data Analysis Expressions), with experience in Git, conceptual modeling (LucidChart), and knowledge of the pharmacy business.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related role.
  • Bachelor's or equivalent education or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Certified DBT Developer highly preferred.
  • MS PowerBI Data Analyst PL-300 Certification highly preferred.
  • Snowflake experience or SnowPro certifications preferred.
  • Data Vault 2 Data Modeling Certified Data Vault 2.0 Practitioner Certification.
  • AWS Data Engineering Certification preferred.
  • AWS Data Analytics Certification preferred.
