Job summary

Judge Direct Placement is seeking an Analytical Chemist for a client in South Carolina. The Analytical Scientist independently develops, validates, and optimizes analytical methods, leads method development projects, and mentors team members.

The role ensures timely completion of projects, technical reports, and compliance with regulatory standards, including cGMP and ISO 17025 considerations, with emphasis on HPLC, GC, ICP-MS/OES, and LC-MS/MS instrumentation and Empower software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Chemistry with 7 years of relevant experience OR Master’s/Ph.D. in Chemistry with 5 years
• 5–7 years of analytical method development in cGMP environment.
• Expertise in complex nutraceutical matrices and botanical compound characterization.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for HPLC and GC.
• Proficiency in Empower software (mandatory).
• Knowledge of FDA, ICH guidelines, ISO 17025 accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Analytical Testing: Perform Quality Release, Special Request, and Stability testing using SOPs and review contract lab results.
• Instrumentation & Software: Troubleshoot HPLC, GC, ICP-MS/OES, LC-MS/MS; utilize Empower, TiAmo, MassHunter, MassLynx.
• Mentorship & Teamwork: Train and mentor junior chemists; lead optimization of analytic methods.
• Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment and ensure instrument calibration.
• General Duties: Plan and coordinate analytical activities; collaborate with cross-functional teams; maintain ISO 17025 competency.
