Job summary

Planet Pharma in Thousand Oaks, CA is seeking a highly skilled analytical chemist to perform GMP analytical testing across drug substance, drug product, and materials. You will independently execute approved methods, document procedures, and ensure data integrity, with minimal supervision.

The role requires planning, data interpretation, instrument maintenance (HPLC/UPLC, GC, dissolution, UV-Vis, FTIR, Karl Fischer, LC-MS), and support for method transfers and regulatory readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
• Approximately 5 years of relevant analytical laboratory experience in pharma GMP environment.
• Experience performing analytical testing of synthetic pharmaceutical materials preferred.
• Working knowledge of GMP, good documentation practices, and laboratory data integrity principles.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine GMP analytical testing of materials and products.
• Execute testing according to approved analytical methods, specifications, SOPs, and GMP requirements.
• Plan and organize laboratory activities to meet testing timelines with minimal supervision.
• Document sample preparation, instrument conditions, calculations, observations, and results with GMP data integrity.
• Review and interpret analytical data to ensure results are accurate, traceable, and reliable.
• Operate and maintain standard laboratory equipment and analytical instrumentation.
• Support analytical method transfer, qualification, verification, and validation activities.
• Prepare and review GMP documentation such as notebooks, worksheets, protocols, and reports.
