Job summary

Philanthropy Northwest is seeking a Senior Analyst for The Giving Practice. You will conduct research, landscape scans, and data analysis to support foundations and philanthropic programs. You will interview clients, synthesize themes, and contribute to reports and presentations, while managing projects and assisting with meetings.

The role values strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, and the ability to work across diverse stakeholders in a changing philanthropic landscape.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five to seven years of relevant work experience in the nonprofit, public or private sector and an understanding of the client/stakeholder environment.
• Consulting/client management experience or a desire to grow into a consultant.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research, landscape scans and data analysis for client engagements.
• Conduct interviews with clients, code and synthesize themes and write interview summaries.
• Create and design reports and papers; edit and proofread all deliverables.
• Develop and administer tools such as surveys or online polling and focus group questions, analyze the data collected and create presentations.
• Develop written materials, such as articles, blog posts and publications, as well as codify knowledge for internal learning and reflection.
• Provide project management support on client engagements to support consultants.
• Support and/or take the lead on designing and facilitating small group meetings.
• Act as the lead consultant on smaller client engagements independently in areas such as facilitation, survey administration and research.
• Support internal projects and processes as necessary.
• Actively participate in The Giving Practice team meetings and activities as well as Philanthropy Northwest staff meetings, member trainings, briefings and conferences.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated professional who is passionate about building capacity in the philanthropic sector. This important role will be joining The Giving Practice, our national philanthropy consulting firm, to support customized engagements for foundations, corporate giving programs and public-private partnerships and collaborations.

A successful candidate will have robust analytical and project management skills, enthusiasm to support our consultants and interest in growing into a consultant. The role encompasses a wide array of tasks, such as identifying relevant research and data, scanning the field for what has been written or what peer foundations are doing, interviewing clients and stakeholders, facilitating small group discussions, managing project budgets, handling logistics for meetings, leading small client engagements, and more.

Salary and Benefits

The annual compensation for this full-time (40 hours/week) position includes a package of benefits including medical, dental, Flex-Plan, professional development, flexible schedule, transportation stipend, generous paid time off and a 6% retirement contribution. Salary range is $60,000– $75,000 and starting salary will be dependent on experience.
