Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. is seeking a Senior Analyst, Tax Technology & Automation to join our hybrid team in the United States.

You will maintain and support tax reporting applications such as ONESOURCE, Orbitax, CorpTax, and DMI, and build automated ETL workflows in Alteryx. Partner with Tax SMEs to transform manual workpapers into scalable processes, ensure audit readiness, and drive efficiency across global tax operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, CS, or IS.
• 3–6 years in data analytics, tax technology, or related IT field.
• Experience with corporate tax software (ONESOURCE, CorpTax) is a plus.
• Expert-level Excel with Power Query and complex formulas.
• Experience building Alteryx workflows.
• SQL queries and cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred).
• Experience creating training materials and leading sessions.

The Job

As a Senior Analyst, Tax Technology & Automation, you’ll be part of our Tax Technology & Automation team working as a hybrid employee. You’ll get to:

Tax Technology Systems and Administration

Maintain and support direct and indirect tax reporting, international tax computation, and tax compliance applications, while assisting with the implementation of new tax technology solutions.

Administer and support core tax software applications, including: ONESOURCE Tax Provision for SEC financial reporting, including software updates, testing, quarterly and annual rollovers, scenario planning, and Excel input templates. Orbitax Global Minimum Tax for OECD Pillar Two calculations, reporting, GloBE Information Returns (GIR), transmission, and planning. Corptax for U.S. federal, state, and international tax compliance. DMI for ASC 740 uncertain tax position reporting. Other tax technology solutions implemented in the future.

Maintain provision and return legal entity hierarchies and required master data attributes across tax applications.

Serve as administrator for additional tax software applications, as needed.

Maintain Tax Department SharePoint sites.

Automation, Data, and Reporting Solutions

Build, test, deploy, and maintain complex ETL workflows in Alteryx to automate data ingestion, transformation, formatting, and calculation validation for the global tax department.

Maintain and support automated solutions developed in Alteryx and Power BI.

Serve as the first line of support for workflow maintenance by identifying and resolving data mapping failures, API connection issues, and logic defects within automation pipelines.

Extract and manipulate raw financial data from source systems and structure it for ingestion into the Enterprise Data Lake and tax applications.

Partner with Tax Subject Matter Experts to transform manual workpapers into scalable, automated processes.

Ensure automated workflows include robust, auditable variance checks and reconciliation outputs to support internal and external audit requirements.

Actively identify opportunities to eliminate redundant data entry and manual manipulation across provision, compliance, and reporting processes.

Maintain logical mapping across systems using Diligent software, including trial balance and HFM entity mapping.

Process Improvement, Implementation, and Cross-Functional Support

Develop a detailed understanding of tax compliance and tax provision processes and apply that knowledge to drive process improvements and technology-enabled change.

Support the Tax function as point of contact for IT and Business Process Owner activities related to SAP Central Finance, Ariba, S/4HANA, and Oracle EPM implementations.

Maintain a gap analysis for tax requirements not addressed by current technology designs and use that analysis to support solution implementation outside of Central Finance.

Collaborate with Tax, Accounting, IT, FP&A, and external advisors to develop and implement technology solutions that improve automation and efficiency across the tax organization.

Support Tax Department leadership on special projects focused on improving automation, efficiency, and process effectiveness across the global tax organization.

Serve as liaison between the Tax team and IT to ensure accurate translation of business requirements into technology solutions.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, Computer / Data Science, or Information Systems. Advanced degree a plus. Tax provision and/or compliance experience is a plus.
• 3–6 years of hands‑on experience in data analytics, tax technology, data automation, finance transformation, or a related analytical/technology field.
• Prior exposure to corporate financial consolidation systems (Hyperion/HFM, SAP) or corporate tax software (ONESOURCE, CorpTax) is a strong plus.
• Expert‑level Excel skills, including Power Query, advanced formulas, and the ability to reverse‑engineer complex legacy workbooks.
• Advanced, demonstrable experience building workflows in Alteryx workflows.
• Experience with data analytics, data extraction and transformation, data mapping, process design and standardized work development.
• Proven project management and project coordination skills.
• Experience with Visio Charts and Business Process Maps.
• Experience with writing SQL queries and interacting with cloud data warehouses (experience with Snowflake is highly preferred).
• Experience in developing training material and holding training sessions.

The Salary range for this position is $77,600.00 - $124,900.00. This is the lowest to highest annual full‑time salary range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
