Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 5–7 years in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Experience with ERP systems (prefer QAD) and Power BI.
• Proven track record of contract negotiations, cost savings, and data-driven decisions using Excel or ERP analytics tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook; SQL or similar.
• Experience in an FDA-regulated medical device manufacturing environment.
• Inventory management experience is preferred.

Job Description Summary

• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives, and manage critical component and raw material suppliers, including specialized biomaterials, nitinol, and delivery system components.
• Provide business acumen and industry perspective to create broad, competitive strategies and agility for the materials and services portfolio.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with key suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
• Drive cost-optimization strategies, scale procurement operations, and secure a resilient supply chain for a life-saving heart valve technology portfolio.
• Work closely with Production, Quality, Regulatory, and R&D groups to ensure uninterrupted commercial supply.
• Conduct all business in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing strategies for critical direct materials, sub-assemblies, and specialized services supporting our commercial structural heart portfolio.
• Manage key supplier relationships, negotiate favorable terms, pricing agreements, and service level agreements (SLAs) to support rapid commercial scaling.
• Identify supply chain vulnerabilities, develop robust secondary sourcing strategies, and implement risk-management frameworks to prevent operational disruptions.
• Partner with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs (QA/RA) to qualify new suppliers, manage supplier change notifications, and ensure full compliance.
• Conduct market analysis, total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling, and spend analytics to identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising product quality or patient safety.
• Collaborate with R&D and Operations to transition components from prototype to commercial-scale manufacturing smoothly.
• Direct proper utilization of the ERP systems to monitor supplier performance metrics, track purchase orders, and manage inventory forecasting.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree plus 5 to 7 years or experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management or equivalent.
• Experience with ERP systems (strong preference for QAD) and business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
• Proven track record of successful contract negotiations, cost savings delivery, and data-driven decision-making using advanced Excel or ERP analytics tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook), SQL or similar software.
• Experience in an FDA-regulated medical device manufacturing environment.
• Inventory management experience is preferred.
