Job summary

Neuberger Berman is seeking a Private Markets Operations Analyst in New York City. The role supports the Private Debt Investment team and other alternative investments, handling data integrity, trade ops, settlements, and treasury management.

The successful candidate will liaise with portfolio managers, finance, compliance and service providers, driving process improvements and system enhancements while supporting daily portfolio operations in a hybrid setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 5+ years operations experience in private credit / bank loans / Direct Lending.
  • Experience with structured debt and various credit products.
  • Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of formulas, Visio, Outlook and Word.
  • Strong organization and time management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and resolve cash, trade, and position breaks across NB systems for start-of-day readiness.
  • Escalate aged open items (breaks, unsettled trades) to appropriate parties.
  • Oversee trade process including booking, confirmation with brokers, and loan settlement cycles.
  • Liaise with portfolio managers, finance, compliance and service providers for portfolio activity.
  • Coordinate deals funding, borrowing/draw downs and cash management.
  • Coordinate between custodian, loan agents, and fund admins daily.
  • Oversee outsource providers and vendors; drive system enhancements for efficiency.

Job description

Neuberger is looking for a Private Markets Operations Analyst. This is a cross functional role that will support the Private Debt Investment team and other Alternative Investments. This person will play a key role in the daily support of portfolio management, fund administration and treasury management for
Neuberger Berman’s private debt strategies and other alternative strategies. The role will include functional support of Data Integrity, Agency, Trade Ops/Settlements, Account Transitions, Asset Servicing and Reconciliations. Additionally, this person will be assisting with design & implementation of process improvements and system enhancements for this space.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and resolve cash, trade, and position breaks as well as any other open items between NB systems and external sources, for start of day readiness
  • Escalate aged open items (breaks, unsettled trades) to appropriate parties
  • Oversee trade process including trade booking, confirmation with brokers and loan settlement processes; ie: Life Cycle event for Credit products
  • Liaise between portfolio managers, finance, compliance and service providers for all portfolio-specific activity and issues, ensuring cross-communication of critical information between departments
  • Deal Closing/ Cash Management: coordinate Deals Fundings and Borrowing/Draw Downs
  • Daily coordination between custodian, loan agents, and fund admins
  • Coordinate and assist with overseeing outsource providers and vendors across all relevant functions
  • High focus on someone with experience implementing new systems or technology initiatives to drive operational efficiencies and reduce manual tasks
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years operations experience in private credit / bank loans / Direct Lending
  • experience working with structured debt and various credit products
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel - knowledge of formulas a must, Microsoft Visio, Outlook and Word
  • Team-oriented work ethic that includes willingness to help others
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Wall Street Office and Clearpar
  • Knowledge of Allvue accounting systems (Everest), Aladdin, Appian
  • Direct Lending investment experience
  • Understanding of accounting theories and applications as they relate to investment transactions

Location: New York City; hybrid with a minimum of three days per week in office.

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $110,000-$130,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, business sector, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, market benchmarking data, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus, which, along with base salary and retirement contributions, is part of our total comprehensive package.
