ABOUT THE ROLE

This is the analytical backbone of our client work. You will build the reimbursement models, rate benchmarks, and contract analyses that tell our clients where the money is and what it is worth to go get it — and you will do it sitting next to the people who take those numbers into the negotiating room. It is a rare early-career seat: real ownership of real analysis, on live engagements, with a clear path to owning workstreams and client relationships as your expertise develops.

You are one to a few years into an analytical career in healthcare and you are good with numbers in a way that holds up to scrutiny. You build models people can follow, you catch the error before anyone else does, and you are hungry to learn how payer contracting actually works. You want to be in the room, not downstream of it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Contract & Reimbursement Analysis

• Analyze commercial, Medicare Advantage, and Medicaid managed care contracts to quantify rate exposure and identify underpayment and language risk.
• Build and maintain fee schedule analyses across CPT, HCPCS, DRG, and APC-based reimbursement.
• Compare contracted rates against Medicare, market benchmarks, and peer positioning to surface renegotiation targets.
• Document findings clearly enough that a client executive can follow the logic from raw data to conclusion.
• Build, maintain, and stress-test reimbursement models across fee-for-service, case rate, per diem, capitated, and value-based methodologies.
• Run scenario and sensitivity analysis to quantify the financial impact of proposed rates and contract language.
• Reconcile model outputs against claims, remittance, and client financial data before anything goes to a client.
• Maintain rigorous version control, documentation, and quality control across every model and output.

Negotiation Support

• Prepare the analytical foundation behind rate proposals, counter-proposals, and walk-away analysis.
• Track payer positions, concessions, and open items across active negotiations.
• Turn negotiation outcomes into measurable, reportable financial results for the client.
• Produce polished, client-ready models, analyses, presentations, and memos.
• Work with large, complex healthcare data sets — claims, remittance, charge master, and fee schedule data.
• Handle confidential client and firm information with complete discretion.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING (REQUIRED)

• 1+ years of analytical experience in healthcare — managed care, payer contracting, provider reimbursement, revenue cycle, health plan analytics, healthcare finance, or healthcare consulting.
• Advanced Excel: complex formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and the ability to build and audit a model from scratch.
• Working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement concepts — fee schedules, CPT/HCPCS/DRG coding, and fee-for-service versus value-based arrangements.
• Exceptional attention to detail and disciplined version control.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain an analysis to a non-analyst.
• Ability to manage multiple deliverables against deadlines with limited supervision.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, healthcare administration, data analytics, or a related field.
• Located in or willing to relocate to the Nashville, TN area and work onsite two to three days per week.

PREFERRED

• Experience at a healthcare consulting or advisory firm, health system, physician group, or health plan.
• Direct exposure to commercial, Medicare Advantage, or Medicaid managed care contracts.
• SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable data analysis and visualization tooling.
• Familiarity with claims and remittance data (837/835), charge master, or payer fee schedule files.
• Coursework or certification in healthcare finance (e.g., HFMA CHFP) or a related credential.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

LOCATION & TRAVEL

This is a hybrid position based in Nashville, Tennessee, with two to three days per week onsite and the balance worked remotely. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
