Overview

The Senior Analyst - Financial Planning & Analysis plays a critical role by creating financial forecasts for the company’s core lines of business and preparing recurring reports that inform capital planning and asset management across the portfolio.

The Senior Analyst will collaborate with various internal departments and external partners to carry out assignments under the guidance of senior members of the Transactions team. The role requires well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Create, modify, and maintain Argus Models for the building’s commercial portfolio.
  2. Collaborate with Leasing, Construction, and Operations teams to develop assumptions around leasing activity, capital projects, and operating budgets.
  3. Work with Accounting to analyze quarterly financial results and conduct variance analyses to inform forecasts.
  4. Model future debt obligations and assumptions around financings with the Finance team.
  5. Model future capital events and asset management strategies with the Transactions team.
  6. Advance capital planning by assembling and updating portfolio and corporate cash flow forecasts.
  7. Coordinate collection, analysis, and delivery of key metrics related to capital events, leasing, refinancing, and budgets.
  8. Assist in preparing strategic plans, new business analyses, and ad hoc analyses.
  9. Prepare sensitivity analyses based on leasing and refinancing strategies.
  10. Prepare and present reports to the Executive team highlighting key events affecting capital planning.
  11. Assist in material preparation for executive meetings.
  12. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  13. Support sustainability initiatives within the organization, integrating environmental stewardship into processes and practices.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Finance, or Accounting preferred
  • Proficiency in Argus, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; MRI experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of real estate fundamentals and financial concepts
  • Ability to construct and edit cash flow forecasts in Excel and Argus
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present analysis clearly to senior executives

Department Summary

The Transactions Department manages the development cycle from acquisition to stabilization, including redevelopment and disposition. It involves sourcing, underwriting, negotiating, and closing acquisitions, as well as sourcing and finalizing project financing. The team also supports design decisions to maximize returns and manages diligence, investment processes, and reporting for Durst Ventures.

Salary range: $115,000 - $145,000 annually
