Job summary

Waites Sensor Technologies, Inc. seeks a Senior Analyst, FP&A to act as a trusted advisor to the CFO and executive team, driving planning, budgeting, and financial modeling across manufacturing and SaaS contexts.

You will lead short- and long-term financial planning, develop data-driven insights, and mentor the Accounting team while advancing AI-enabled FP&A practices and KPI governance. Cincinnati-based onsite with occasional flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning in manufacturing/SaaS
  • Experience in manufacturing/SaaS industries preferred
  • Experience utilizing AI to develop dashboards and automate FP&A work
  • Proficiency in GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Strong analytical and leadership abilities

Responsibilities

  • Act as advisor to the CFO and senior management, driving FP&A
  • Lead development of short and long-term financial plans aligning with strategic objectives
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities
  • Oversee annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for all departments
  • Develop and monitor KPIs, compare actuals to forecasts, analyze variances
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and develop mitigation strategies
  • Communicate insights to CFO, executives, and non-finance stakeholders
  • Mentor Accounting team and promote continuous improvement
  • Translate complex questions into data-driven analyses for leaders
  • Analyze product profitability, pricing, ROI, and unit economics
  • Benchmark internally and externally to identify best practices

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Finance & Accounting department as a Senior Analyst of FP&A. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated and passionate about people and numbers. This individual will play a crucial role of advisor to the CFO and executive team, driving the financial planning and analysis, budgeting and financial modeling function of the organization. The ideal candidate also will have a deep understanding of financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning within a manufacturing and SaaS context. Company Description

We are a leading provider of wireless, mesh-networked, "Internet of Things" (IoT) sensors for industrial environments. Our cost-effective, plug-and-play products empower plants of all sizes to conduct predictive and preventative maintenance on mission-critical and secondary equipment in order to maximize uptime. (I.e. We help with things like getting your Prime packages to you faster!)

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Onsite Requirements: Onsite, remote flexibility as needed

Travel: Minimal travel may be required on an as-needed basis.

Job Description

This position will give you the opportunity to:

  • Act as a crucial advisor to the CFO and senior management team, driving the financial planning and analysis function of the company
  • Lead the development of short and long-term financial plans, aligning them with the company's strategic objectives
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities; provide actionable insights to guide decision-making
  • Oversee the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting, ensuring accuracy and consistency across all departments
  • Develop and monitor key financial performance indicators, comparing actual results with forecasts, and investigating variances to understand underlying business drivers
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks while capitalizing on opportunities
  • Communicate financial insights and recommendations effectively to the CFO, senior management, and non-finance stakeholders
  • Collaborate with and help mentor the Accounting team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Work closely with the Accounting team to accomplish shared goals.
  • Translate complex questions into data-driven analyses to allow leaders to make informed decisions
  • Conduct analysis around product profitability, pricing, ROI of investments
  • Maintain per subscriber and unit economics of company revenue streams
  • Conduct internal and external benchmarking to identify best practices and metrics
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Deep understanding of financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning within a manufacturing/SaaS context
  • Experience in a manufacturing/SaaS industries highly preferred
  • Experience utilizing AI to develop dashboards and automate FP&A work
  • Passion for AI and how it can be used to grow and evolve Waites’ FP&A practices
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Expert proficiency in financial modeling and analysis tools
  • Proficiency in Netsuite or related ERP systems
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities
  • Excellent leadership and team development skills
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner
