Job summary

Progyny, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the finance team in New York. The role focuses on forward-looking financial analysis, modeling, and insights to align actions with company goals.

You will work cross-functionally, building robust models, analyzing performance guarantees, and delivering clear recommendations to senior leadership. A strong communicator with technical proficiency in Excel and Power BI is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or similar analytical role (preferably with financial accounting and reporting).
• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance; MBA a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain client-level financial models to assess performance guarantees and outcomes.
• Track results against guarantees, investigate variances, and identify financial risks and opportunities.
• Translate modeling results into clear insights for finance, account management, and senior leadership.
• Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses for guarantee structure, pricing, and negotiations.
• Support monthly close and variance analysis for the Accounting team.
• Own and improve internal models, dashboards, and analyses.
• Identify operational problems and recommend solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on ad hoc projects and reporting.

We are currently looking for a Senior Financial Analyst at Progyny. You will be supporting a team that provides forward-looking financial analysis and insights that support decision making and helps ensure alignment of planned actions and targets to company goals. This role is an integral member of the finance team and will partner cross functionally across the organization.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator and will be skilled at building strong relationships across functions and levels throughout the organization and marshaling those resources to get things done. Not satisfied with a quick answer, they will demonstrate the professional curiosity to dig a bit deeper into the true driver of a situation.

What You Will Do...

• Develop and maintain client-level financial models to assess performance guarantees, incorporating contractual terms, key assumptions, and potential financial outcomes.
• Track actual results against performance guarantees, investigate variances, and identify emerging financial risks and opportunities.
• Translate complex modeling and performance results into clear, actionable insights for finance, account management, and senior leadership stakeholders.
• Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to inform guarantee structure, pricing, and contract negotiations.
• Support the Accounting team's monthly close and month end variance analysis.
• Own, maintain, and improve internal models, dashboards, and analyses.
• Identify and analyze operational problems and recommend effective solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams on complex ad hoc projects and reporting.

About You...

• 3+ years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or a similar analytical role (preferably with a combination of financial accounting and reporting experience). Publicly traded company experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance related - MBA is a plus.
• Plans and aligns: Skilled at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals. Ability to break down objectives into appropriate initiatives and actions with relevant milestones and can anticipate and adjust when needed.
• Communicates Effectively: Strong communicator and listener who is adept at developing and delivering complex information clearly and concisely. Comfortable in a variety of settings: one-on-one, small, and large groups, and at various levels.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel and Power BI skills together with strong data query experience and the ability to manipulate and interpret large sets of data. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial statement presentation is a must.

• Experience with financial planning software use and/or implementation is strongly preferred.

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the annual salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $90,000 - $110,000. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
