General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Analyst / Editor to join the policy team of a federal agency.

You will provide writing, editorial, and technical assistance with respect to developing procedures and responses to outside inquiries. The role focuses on drafting, editing, and reviewing documents for grammar, accuracy, and compliance; managing the approval and clearance process; and supporting inter‑agency coordination and research for policy materials and leadership

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree in public policy, social work, law, journalism, or a related field.
  • Requires 4–5 years of relevant experience with a BA.
  • Strong copy-editing, research, and writing skills.
  • Background in law or social work preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working with immigrant, refugee, and underserved populations is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in Adobe product suite preferred.
  • Strong technical skills including MS Office tools (including Excel and SharePoint).
  • Demonstrated experience in editing/managing documents for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience in scholarly research and drafting documents for leadership and/or other stakeholders.

Senior Analyst / Editor As a Senior Analyst / Editor, and part of the policy team of a federal agency, the candidate will provide writing, editorial, and technical assistance with respect to the development of procedures and responses to outside inquiries.

Position Duties
  • Draft, edit, format, and review responses, recommendations, policies, procedures, reports, and other documents for grammar, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Manage and coordinate the approval and clearance process and provide updates to leadership as needed.
  • Provide research and editorial support to the Intergovernmental Affairs team on relevant issues including child welfare systems, foster care, child abuse and neglect child and adolescent mental health, family reunification, etc.
  • Coordinate with the data team to collect information and compile responses to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, congressional inquiries, other inquiries and questions from other stakeholders.
  • Review and edit procedures and program guidance regarding program clients and other populations served by the agency.
  • Coordinate internal and external reviews and compile recommendations for the policy team based on feedback received.
  • Conduct research to inform the development of talking points, memoranda, reports, briefings, analyses, and other materials provided to interested parties.
  • Support inter‑agency and intra‑agency coordination of agency program functions.
  • Support development and review of content for meeting agendas, reports, and responses to executive and Congressional inquiries.
  • Perform tasks related to document and knowledge management.
  • Support special projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree in public policy, social work, law, journalism, or a related field.
  • Requires 4‑5 years of relevant experience with a BA
  • Strong copy‑editing, research, and writing skills

Additional Requirements

This position requires an existing Public Trust or the ability to obtain one. This position is remote.

Salary

The likely salary range for this position is $81,349 - $94,875. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee’s date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees.
