Job summary

National Grid is hiring a Senior Analyst (Data Process Strategy) for our Contracts, Controls & Workplan Development department in Northboro or Waltham, MA. This is a hybrid and in field role with occasional travel required.

The Analyst partners with Engineering, Procurement, Capital Project Delivery, Construction, Supply Chain, Real Estate and IT to improve material visibility, sourcing outcomes and portfolio delivery performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a related field.
• 2+ years in supply chain, procurement, materials management, project controls, logistics, operations, analytics, or utility operations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with large data sets and reporting tools.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.

• Valid driver's license with a safe driving history per National Grid policy.

Responsibilities

• Material Demand Forecasting & Analytics: Lead collection, validation, analysis and reporting of portfolio-wide material demand forecasts, forecast accuracy, long lead risks and material usage trends.
• Strategic Planning & Portfolio Support: Develop scenario analyses, business cases and planning recommendations supporting short-, medium- and long-term materials management strategies.
• Digital Solutions & Transformation: Support the vision, implementation and optimization of SAP, Ariba, existing dashboards, and future enterprise materials management solutions.
• Materials Playbook & Governance: Create and maintain process maps, governance models, RACIs, handoffs, procedures and the enterprise Materials Management Playbook.
• Materials Framework Integration: Support integration of material planning frameworks, supplier capacity assessments and market intelligence into sourcing and bid award decisions.
• Benefits Realization: Develop dashboards measuring cost avoidance, schedule improvement, forecasting accuracy, inventory optimization and risk reduction.
• Material Performance Management: Analyze forecast-versus-actual usage, lessons learned, material returns and reuse opportunities.
• Cross Functional Leadership: Coordinate working sessions across Engineering, Procurement, Project Management, Construction and Supply Chain stakeholders.
• Long-Term Facilities Planning & Network Strategy: Develop analyses for warehouse strategy, laydown yard planning, material staging locations, logistics infrastructure, regional material hubs, storage utilization, transportation efficiency and future material network requirements; build business cases for facility expansion, consolidation or investment.

Job Purpose

The Analyst - Data, Process & Strategy, Materials Management supports development and execution of New England Electric's material management strategy through demand forecasting, analytics, process governance, digital transformation and long-term strategic planning. The role partners with Engineering, Procurement, Capital Project Delivery, Construction, Supply Chain, Real Estate and IT organizations to improve material visibility, supplier readiness, sourcing outcomes and portfolio delivery performance.

Key Accountabilities

• Material Demand Forecasting & Analytics: Lead collection, validation, analysis and reporting of portfolio-wide material demand forecasts, forecast accuracy, long lead risks and material usage trends.

Salary

$109,000 - $128,000 a year
