Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Model Risk Analyst in the United States to plan and execute production models in Reserves and Loss Forecasting, with a focus on CECL, recoveries, and stress testing.

You will monitor inputs, controls, and outputs, support quarterly close, and collaborate with Forecasting, Data Governance, Finance, and Controllership to drive model governance and optimization across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with quantitative underpinning and 5+ years in Programming/Analytics in Risk, Credit, Finance, or related fields; 9+ years with no degree.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute models in production Reserves and Loss Forecasting, focusing on CECL, recoveries, scenario management, and stress testing
  • Maintain model data input monitoring, production controls, output analytics, results analysis, and documentation
  • Support quarterly review, quarter-closing activities, and act as peer reviewer for process controls
  • Visualize insights, performance, and trends in model inputs and outputs
  • Analyze drivers and provide narrative support for assumptions and projections to model owners and sponsors
  • Respond to model validation and regulatory requests, including exam findings
  • Follow model governance standards
  • Support development of new models and enhancements to existing models
  • Manage models through lifecycle from development to production implementation
  • Outline enhancements for evaluation and future releases
  • Meet project timelines, perform ongoing analysis, and pursue process improvements
  • Collaborate on model recalibrations and refits with business changes
  • Collaborate with Forecasting, Reserve/Stress Testing, Model Development, Data Governance, Finance, Collections, Controllership teams
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Job description

  • Support quarterly review and quarter-closing activities and contribute as a peer reviewer for process controls
  • Visualize insights, performance, and trends in model inputs and outputs
  • Analyze drivers and provide narrative support for assumptions, rationale, and projections to model owners and sponsors
  • Respond to model validation, regulatory, and oversight requests, including exam findings and issues
  • Follow model governance standards
  • Support development of new models and enhancements to existing models
  • Manage models through their lifecycle from development through production implementation
  • Outline enhancements for evaluation and future releases
  • Meet project timelines, perform ongoing analysis, identify performance thresholds, manage model version control, conduct performance assessments, and pursue process and model improvements
  • Collaborate on model recalibrations and refits when business dynamics change
  • Collaborate with Forecasting, Reserve and Stress Testing/Capital Management, Model Development, Data Governance, Finance, Collections, and Controllership teams
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree with quantitative underpinning (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Risk, Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering) and 5+ years of experience in Programming / Analytics ideally supporting Risk, Credit, Finance, Accounting, Consumer Lending, or other relevant professional experience; in lieu of degree, 9+ years of experience in Risk, Credit, Finance, Accounting, or Consumer Lending
  • 5+ years' experience demonstrating strong programming skills in SQL, Python, and Spark
  • Proven hands-on experience utilizing SQL, Python, Spark, and Linux to perform statistical analysis, query relational databases, and manage large amounts of data
  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
  • Experience in process improvement, project management, or change management
  • Familiarity with Model Governance trends/developments across the banking sector, especially credit card or consumer lending and SR11-7
  • Experience with Linux, HDFS, and AWS to collaborate and operate in a cloud computing environment
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation, and submit fingerprints as part of onboarding
  • Must be able to satisfy Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. required
