Job summary

Ally Financial is seeking a Finance Professional to own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. You will develop models, partner with business leaders to set key assumptions, and communicate performance insights to management.

The role focuses on improving planning processes, driving analytics, and supporting enterprise objectives across Finance, Risk, and Treasury in a dynamic, matrixed environment. Strong Excel/PowerPoint skills and 3+ years in finance are required.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in finance or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
  • Experience with enterprise FP&A tools and advanced Excel/PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and improve budgeting and forecasting processes across revenue, expense and balance sheet items.
  • Develop new or enhanced financial models to support changing business needs.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to build bottoms-up assumptions and metrics.
  • Interpret financial data and communicate links to business performance.
  • Prepare and update management review materials (plans and forecasts).
  • Ensure audit compliance within responsible areas and drive process improvements.
  • Contribute to ad hoc analytical projects across Finance, Risk and Treasury.

The Opportunity

This position is responsible for certain aspects of the annual budget and monthly forecast updates, the reporting and variance analysis of monthly and quarterly results, strategic scenario planning, and other business analysis.


The Work Itself


  • Manage and improve the process and models for the planning and analysis of various revenue, expense and balance sheet items.

  • Develop new or enhanced financial models to support changing business needs.

  • Partner with business leaders/budget owners in the bottoms-up development of key assumptions and financial performance metrics.

  • Interpret financial and operational data and effectively illustrate/communicate links to business performance.

  • Create and update management review materials (business plan and forecast update decks).

  • Drive audit compliance within the areas for which you are responsible.

  • Contribute to ad hoc analytical projects as necessary both within and beyond your primary area of focus.

  • Work collaboratively with Finance, Risk, Treasury and other partners to ensure enterprise objectives are met.


The Qualifications We’re Looking For


  • 3+ years previous work experience in Finance or related field preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field required.

  • Experience with enterprise financial planning and analysis tools

  • Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, formulas, if / then analysis) and MS PowerPoint skills

  • Strong understanding of financial statement fundamentals, including income statement and balance sheet analysis.

  • Proven track record of driving for results with minimal ongoing direction.

  • Proven track record of influencing decisions with great analytics and financial models.

  • Attention to detail balanced with knowing the right altitude necessary to deliver on requirements.

  • Energetic and inquisitive, quick learner, takes initiative.

  • Ability to work in a complex matrix organization and to operate in ambiguity.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.


Minimum Qualifications


  • 3+ years of experience

  • High school Diploma or GED equivalent

Base Pay Range

$70,000.00 - $120,000.00


An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.


Incentive Compensation

This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
