Qualifications

• Requires 4 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in environmental science, economics, public policy, or related field.
• A Master's degree may substitute for up to two years of experience.
• Knowledge of environmental/climate policy, clean electricity, and carbon markets.
• Strong research and analytical skills to evaluate policy information and develop recommendations.
• Ability to synthesize and communicate findings clearly for diverse audiences.
• Proactive with independent judgment and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaboration across teams.
• Experience preparing policy memos, briefs, or public-facing documents.
• Ability to contribute to project design and identify risks.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to EDF’s clean energy advocacy strategy by identifying policy opportunities and developing analytical recommendations.
• Represent EDF in external forums with coalition partners, regulators, policymakers.
• Prepare policy analysis, talking points, briefing materials, and rapid-response information.
• Lead in-house research and analysis projects, including policy analysis of proposed regulations and legislation.
• Review policies across metrics, including emissions and economic, health, and equity implications.
• Draft high-quality policy memos, white papers, and public-facing materials.
