Job summary

PHG Advisory is seeking a hands-on CFO partner to deliver fractional CFO services, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic insights for a portfolio of clients. You will build financial models and reporting packages while guiding owners and leadership teams through critical decisions during US business hours.

This remote role requires strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, experience in financial due diligence and reporting, familiarity with QuickBooks, and knowledge of construction accounting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of FP&A, financial due diligence, or fractional CFO/advisory roles.
• Excellent knowledge of budgeting, financial close, and reporting.
• Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing reporting models and monthly reporting packages (PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with QuickBooks preferred.
• Solid understanding of facility services / construction accounting processes (job costing, revenue recognition / WIP adjustment, drop shipped inventory model, and in-house vs. subcontracted labor structuring).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with portfolio of clients, building trusted relationships with owners and leadership teams. Support CFO-level FP&A work: budgets, forecasts, cash flow models, and variance analysis; help prepare insights for strategic planning conversations with owners.
• Develop and maintain Excel-based budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling tools for clients.
• Develop PowerPoint-based monthly performance reports to provide critical insights and strategic recommendations for improved performance and resource allocation.
• Lead ad hoc analysis, drive process and system improvements for efficiencies.
• Execute operational tasks independently (e.g., tools/templates for client use, slide decks).
• Support client M&A and succession planning; support automation and AI leverage across delivery and operations.

PHG assists small to medium sized businesses with revenue of $1-$100 million with accounting/bookkeeping, monthly reporting, forecasting/budgeting, implementing key performance indicators and other strategic financial advisory services. PHG also has a buyside M&A arm where it works with blue-chip multibillion dollar private equity firms to originate and execute deals.

Role Description

This role serves as a strategic financial partner and trusted advisor to a portfolio clients, providing fractional CFO services that drive business growth and profitability. Youll work with team members to support the entire FP&A function from annual strategic planning and budget development to monthly financial advisory and performance insights. This is a hands-on CFO role where youll roll up your sleeves to build financial models and reporting packages while also serving as a strategic thought partner to business owners and leadership teams.

Youll translate complex financial data into actionable business strategies, challenge assumptions, and guide critical decision-making. This position is remote and requires availability during U.S. business hours.
