Job summary

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking an experienced architect or interior designer to lead and coordinate ship design efforts for newbuild, revitalization, and refurbishment projects. You will manage multi-year timelines, guide design intent, and collaborate with brand reps, shipyards, and external studios worldwide.

Qualifications include 5+ years in design, 2+ years of large-scale project management, a architecture-related degree, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and the Adobe suite.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of design industry experience required.
  • Minimum of 2 years managing large-scale projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Cruise ship newbuild or revitalization design experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Suite.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, 3D modeling (V-Ray/Rhino/Sketch-Up/N-scape), and AI tools (Veras, Midjourney) is a plus.
  • Ability to travel internationally or domestically up to 15% of the time.
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and coordination of architectural design work for newbuild, revitalization, and refurbishment projects
  • Support management and development of end-to-end ship design elements across multi-year timelines
  • Coordinate and guide internal and external stakeholders through the ship design process
  • Guide and maintain design intent throughout every stage of the design process
  • Collaborate with brand representatives, external design firms, shipyards, and outfitters worldwide
  • Integrate maritime technology, fire codes, and safety regulations into functional, aesthetically pleasing designs
  • Create presentations and reports for executive business decisions in architecture and interior design
  • Lead production of materials ranging from advanced 3D digital drawings to detailed Revit or AutoCAD work
  • Use reference ships, comparison studies, design guidelines, and contract references to develop high-quality ship design within budget
  • Support practicality, operational, and accessibility reviews under senior team direction
  • Learn and apply Royal Caribbean Group design standards, drawing conventions, and documentation requirements
  • Maintain organized files, drawings, and reference materials for team collaboration
  • Perform other job-related duties assigned by the supervisor
