Job summary

The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the Senior Analyst (Limited Term) in the Criminal Justice Services office. • Conduct Research and Evaluation Activities Related to NCHIP 31
• Lead implementation of NCHIP 31 grant objectives and monitor project milestones, deliverables, and timelines
• Develop project plans, monitor progress, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions to ensure successful completion of grant objectives
• Oversee grant activities among superior courts, the California Department of Justice, federal partners, and other criminal justice stakeholders and serve as the main point of contact; manage project timelines, scope, and deliverables
• Monitor grant expenditures, deliverables, and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with federal grant conditions
• Prepare required grant progress reports, work plans, and supporting documentation for state and federal partners
• Collect, validate, and analyze statewide data supporting grant objectives and performance measures. Synthesize the work of participating courts for state-level themes and recommendations
• Evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve criminal history reporting processes
• Provide Program Oversight and Technical Support
• Maintain project documentation, grant files, and records supporting federal reporting requirements
• Produce meeting agenda content, action items, and follow-up activities for project teams and stakeholder workgroups
• Review project deliverables for completeness and consistency with grant objectives
• Assist management with special projects and emerging criminal justice initiatives with respect to innovative data collection and research methods, stakeholder presentations, and educational programming
• Serve as Statewide Liaison and Subject Matter Expert
• Serve as the primary liaison between the Judicial Council, superior courts, the California Department of Justice, and other criminal justice partners
• Provide technical assistance regarding criminal history reporting requirements, grant activities, and project implementation

The Judicial Council offers hybrid work arrangements for many positions. The successful candidate will be expected to work in person at the Judicial Council’s San Francisco or Sacramento office at least two days per week, based on their office leader’s direction, and reside in the areas surrounding these locations. To be eligible for Judicial Council employment and participation in the Judicial Council’s Hybrid Work Program, a prospective or current employee’s primary residence/remote work location must be in the State of California and within a 150-mile driving radius of their assigned reporting location.

OVERVIEW

The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Senior Analyst (Limited Term) in the Criminal Justice Services office.

The Senior Analyst position is a temporary, full-time assignment for a duration of approximately three years, contingent on the availability of funds, and no later than June 30, 2029.

The Senior Analyst position is responsible for leading components of statewide activities associated with the National Criminal History Improvement Program (NCHIP 31) grant. The Senior Analyst serves as one of the Judicial Council's lead liaisons with the California Department of Justice, superior courts, and justice system partners to support implementation of grant-funded initiatives that improve the quality, completeness, and timeliness of California criminal history records. The position independently manages complex projects, oversees grant activities, conducts research and policy analysis, develops recommendations, and provides technical assistance to courts and stakeholders. Most qualified candidates will have experience with court case management systems, disposition data reporting, and a basic understanding about the criminal justice arrest lifecycle.
