Job summary

People Inc. is seeking a Senior Analyst of Research & Insights to lead our research strategy for our Beauty, Style, and Entertainment verticals, including core brands like People, Entertainment Weekly, Instyle, and Byrdie.

The role emphasizes deep data analysis of first‑party data to inform content, media, and advertising strategies. This hybrid New York position partners with Marketing, Editorial and Sales to surface actionable insights for RFPs and campaigns, requiring strong data storytelling

Qualifications

  • College degree required.
  • 3–5 years conducting research and analytics in digital/media, beauty/style/entertainment space a strong plus.
  • Expertise with syndicated research sources: MRI-SIMMONS, MRI/Comscore Fusion, IPSOS Affluent, Google Analytics and Comscore. Familiarity with New Age, Telmar, MEMRI or IMS preferred.
  • Comfort with Excel is a must; familiarity with comScore, Google Analytics, Google Trends is a plus.
  • Knowledge/expertise with data visualization tools. Familiarity with Looker is a plus.
  • Excellent research synthesis skills enabling you to draw out key insights.
  • Stellar communication and data storytelling skills.
  • Experience presenting results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and inquisitive nature.

Responsibilities

  • Become an expert on the Beauty, Style, and Entertainment audiences and be the market expert on vertical‑related topics.
  • Uncover insights from first-party data to support advertising partnerships and campaigns.

Schedule Requirements

Hybrid 3x a week – New York. In‑office expectations: this position is hybrid in‑office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

About The Team | The Team and/or Brand

Across our brands and platforms People Inc.'s content engages, informs and entertains over 175 million U.S. consumers each month. Our team helps Beauty, Style and Entertainment brands understand and connect with these consumers, using data to surface insights that inform content, media and advertising strategies.

About the Position’s Contributions
  • Become an expert on the Beauty, Style, and Entertainment audiences – you’ll be required to go deep into the data, understand our sites and audience better than anyone and be the market expert on all things vertical‑related.
  • Uncover insights and use them to craft compelling stories, rooted in our first‑party data, to support existing and new advertising partnerships and campaigns. For example, common analyses would be focused on supporting RFPs and day‑to‑day ad hoc requests. Skills that would benefit this role include:
    • Expertise in working with large data sets to synthesize information and draw out key insights
    • Expertise in using multiple sources of data and information (whether syndicated, quantitative, qualitative, secondary, etc.) to guide business decisions
  • Advise Marketing, Editorial, and Sales teams on brand management, audience expansion and sales initiatives.
  • Consult on the design of in‑house quantitative consumer research studies that provide unique insights for our clients and partners.
The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements

Education: College degree required.

  • Minimum of 3‑5 years conducting research and analytics in the digital/media landscape, and/or the beauty/style/entertainment space – experience in both a strong plus
  • Expertise with various syndicated research sources: MRI‑SIMMONS, MRI/Comscore Fusion, IPSOS Affluent, Google Analytics and Comscore. Familiarity with software from New Age, Telmar, MEMRI or IMS preferred
  • Comfortability with Excel is a must, familiarity with comScore, Google Analytics, Google Trends is a plus

Pay Range

Salary: New York: $70,000.00 – $85,000.00

The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short‑and‑long‑term incentives.
