Job summary

Entergy is seeking an Engineer I–Sr. (Utility) for its AMI Engineering Lab in New Orleans, LA. This onsite role focuses on developing and owning technology strategies and procedures for electric meters and NICs/IMUs, APs, Relays, and legacy meters.

The candidate may be placed at Engineer I, II, III, or Sr. depending on experience, with relocation required if outside the area. Responsibilities include maintaining calibration standards, creating lab procedures, and developing meter testing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Chemical engineering.
  • PE license may be considered for candidate with four-year degree.
  • Engineer I requires 0+ years; II 2+ years; III 4+ years; Senior 6+ years (5+ with PE).
  • Experience with AMI meters or metering standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance within an AMI Engineering Lab.
  • Maintain Meter Calibration Standards per PUC requirements.
  • Create and update lab procedures for meters and communication equipment.
  • Develop meter testing programs using WECO 2150 or similar systems.
  • Test new meter stock and existing meters.
  • Oversee meter programming for various metering services and features.
  • Maintain meter test results database and meter inventory.
