Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, seeks a Principal Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to lead capital equipment and high-volume manufacturing projects during NPI, cost-out and plant productivity initiatives. The role focuses on equipment development, layout, and qualification to maximize OEE in a high-volume environment.

The AME will apply lean principles, DFMA, and cross-functional collaboration while transferring process knowledge to factory personnel.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent hands-on experience).
7+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing equipment and processes.
Experience applying Lean manufacturing principles.
Strong communication and leadership skills across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage capital equipment procurement projects, including specification development and supplier engagement.
Own program metrics: budgets, schedules, reliability, quality and labor targets; perform trade-off analyses.
Lead application of Production Preparation Process (3P) and Lean principles in equipment/process development; ensure DFMA compatibility with value stream.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to department knowledge through training and process development.
Support AI-assisted documentation and knowledge management to improve collaboration and standardization.
