Job summary

Nationwide is seeking an ALM Leader to shape investment strategy and risk targets for Nationwide Financial. You will develop and execute ALM strategies, optimize asset allocation, and ensure regulatory alignment across domestic and offshore opportunities.

Lead a team of ALM professionals, partner with risk management, actuarial, and CFO teams, and drive reporting modernization while maintaining compliance and governance across multiple product lines.

Qualifications

• Education: Undergraduate degree in finance or quantitative field.
• Actuarial designation (FSA/ASA) or CFA preferred.
• 10+ years of investments/ALM experience in financial services.
• Strong knowledge of fixed income, equity, derivatives, and insurance products.
• Analytical mindset with excellent communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and optimization of investment strategies backing liabilities in collaboration with treasury and risk teams.
• Develop and track hedging strategies to manage balance sheet risks (interest rate exposures, etc.).
• Drive pricing competitiveness for ALM factors across product lines and M&A activity.
• Monitor liquidity risk and define drivers for liquidity draws and ladder usage.
• Own asset allocation frameworks and correlate with investment strategy development.
• Provide governance liaison to ALCO and enterprise risk forums; mentor ALM staff.
