Job summary

Astra Mental Health and Recovery seeks an Alcohol and Drug Counselor to deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive treatment. You will conduct assessments, develop plans, and provide individual and group counseling with a client-centered approach.

Reporting to the Director of Astra Recovery Services, you will ensure compliance with CCBHC and CARF standards while maintaining thorough documentation and coordination with supports and external agencies.

Qualifications

• Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC) in good standing.
• Master’s degree in addiction or related field.
• Minimum five years free from abuse of alcohol and other drugs.
• Must pass Kansas background checks (KBI, Central Registry).
• Valid Kansas driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Assess and treat using state-approved assessments and tools.
• Develop strength-based treatment plans with clients and supports.
• Document progress in treatment plans and records.
• Provide individual and group counseling per state standards.
• Coordinate discharge planning, housing, health needs, and referrals.
