Job summary

Roots Wellness Center seeks a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor (LADC) to perform SUD assessments and participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning. On-site at the 245G program, the role supports trauma-responsive and anti-oppressive practices while engaging with diverse clients and funding sources.

The counselor will manage a balanced caseload, facilitate multiple groups weekly, and ensure accurate documentation and coordination of services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in alcohol and drug counseling required.
• 270 classroom hours in alcohol and drug counseling curriculum.
• 880 hours of alcohol and drug counseling practicum completed.
• Procentive experience preferred; Minnesota licensure maintained.

Responsibilities

• Perform substance use disorder assessments and create treatment plans using ASAM criteria.
• Facilitate intake, group, individual, and family counseling sessions (5–6 groups/week for part-time; 9–10 for full-time).
• Manage caseloads and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation for invoicing and EMR entries.
• Support anti-oppressive/trauma-responsive practices in all interactions.
