Job summary

State of the Heart Recovery Inc in New Mexico is seeking a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) to support adults with co-occurring disorders within an integrated clinical team.

You will conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based approaches, while maintaining compliant documentation and records. The role emphasizes trauma-informed, client-centered care in a behavioral health setting.

Qualifications

• Active LADAC license in good standing.
• Two years’ experience with adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Two years’ experience providing individual and group psychotherapy.
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.
• Computer literacy for documentation and reporting.
• Valid New Mexico driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments, diagnostic evaluations, GPRA tools, ASAM reviews, and psychosocial assessments.
• Develop and update individualized treatment plans aligned with client needs and standards.
• Provide individual and group counseling using CBT, MI, CRA, psychoeducation, and relapse-prevention approaches.
• Maintain accurate documentation including progress notes, assessments, and treatment plans.
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with federal/state regulations; submit required reports timely.
• Coordinate referrals to internal and external service providers as needed.
• Attend trainings, supervision sessions, and evidence-based practice trainings.
