Job summary
Northrop Grumman is seeking an Airworthiness Engineer/Principal Airworthiness Engineer to support certification efforts for air vehicle platforms in Rancho Bernardo, CA. The role covers plans, bases of certification, and compliance activities across the product lifecycle.
The position requires DoD security clearance (Top Secret) and experience with MIL-HDBK-516B/516C, airworthiness plans, and type certification.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in STEM with 2 years or Masters with 0 years experience.
- Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-516B 516C.
- Experience developing Airworthiness plans and Basis of Certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform airworthiness planning and verification including plans, bases of certification, and means of compliance for complex systems.
- Coordinate with other airworthiness engineers and disciplines across design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
- Translate customer requirements into criteria and derived requirements through analyses and allocations.
- Ensure certification objectives are realized throughout the product lifecycle (flight releases, type certification, continued airworthiness, operations).
- Thrive in fast-paced, diverse, team-oriented environments across levels.
