Job summary

The City of Atlanta is seeking an Airport Grounds Maintenance Technician III- Airfield to maintain safe, clean, and visually appealing airport grounds at Atlanta, GA. This role ensures operations across runways, roadways, and adjacent spaces remain safe and efficient.

Required are a high school diploma, 5+ years of grounds maintenance experience, and the ability to operate heavy equipment. AMA Certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment; position offers outdoor, hands-on work in

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
5+ years of grounds/landscaping maintenance experience.
Must obtain AMA Certification within 6 months of employment and maintain annually.

Responsibilities

Perform and lead advanced grounds maintenance activities (mowing, edging, trimming, debris removal, pressure washing).
Conduct routine inspections of airport grounds, roadways, sidewalks, parking areas and landscaped spaces.
Coordinate inspections and maintenance of grounds vehicles, trailers, and equipment with safety documentation.
Support special grounds projects (surface sealing, weatherproofing) and emergency response activities.
Maintain records of grounds activities, inspections, equipment use and repairs.
Coordinate with supervisors and airport staff to respond to service requests and ensure timely completion.
