The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates for the Senior Airport Equipment Mechanic position. This role involves providing work direction and training to employees, performing journey-level mechanical work at Harry Reid International Airport, and maintaining complex luggage movement systems. The position requires troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues across various systems.
This examination will establish an open competitive eligibility list to fill current and future vacancies within the next six months, which may be extended as needed. Employee Services reserves the right to select only the most qualified applicants.
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or equivalent, completion of a recognized apprenticeship as an electrician, plant, HVAC, or facility mechanic, and three years of full-time skilled experience in installation, maintenance, and repair of building systems. Additional experience may substitute for an apprenticeship on a year-for-year basis. Attendance at a trade school is desirable.

Working Conditions: Extended shifts or emergency call-backs.
Licensing and Certification: Valid Class C Nevada Driver's License at hire.
Other Requirements: Pre-employment medical and drug tests, residency within Clark County, legal work authorization in the U.S., background checks, and security clearance requirements.
Physical Demands: Ability to operate tools and equipment, work in confined spaces, lift up to 100 pounds, and communicate effectively.
