Job summary

Tutor Perini O&G Joint Venture is seeking a Superintendent to join our Newark Air Train project at Newark International Airport in Newark, NJ. You will supervise construction, plan onsite functions, ensure compliance with contract documents, and support safety initiatives while coordinating with owner personnel.

Ideal candidates bring extensive supervisory experience on large heavy civil projects, knowledge of US construction practices, and proficiency with MS Word/Excel, Bluebeam, and HCSS

Qualifications

• 20 years of supervisory field experience with large heavy civil infrastructure projects (>$200M).
• 10+ years as construction superintendent/craft supervision in building/structure work (piles, concrete, steel).
• Knowledge of US construction methods, techniques and standards.
• High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Experience with City, State and Federal government clients preferred.
• Knowledge of contract management and familiarity with local trades/unions; MS Word/Excel, Procure, Bluebeam, HCSS Heavy Bid; OSHA, First Aid; strong written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise construction to meet design, budget, and schedule.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, subcontractor coordination).
• Ensure crafts/subcontractors comply with contract docs; efficient use of materials and equipment; timely schedule performance.
• Provide technical assistance: drawings interpretation, construction methods/equipment recommendations.
• Assist project management in developing project schedule and site logistics; implement procedures and standards.
• Support Site Specific Safety Plan.
• Coordinate with on-site Owner employees.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
