Job summary

telstaffing is seeking an experienced upholstery technician to fabricate and install aircraft interior components, including seat covers and carpets. The role requires interpreting drawings, meeting safety and quality standards, and using the Corridor system to manage parts and workflow.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and extensive upholstery experience, including aircraft work, with strong sewing skills and blueprint literacy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4 years upholstery experience, including two years aircraft upholstery or 6 years commercial upholstery.
• Advanced knowledge of upholstery and sewing processes and products.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering documentation.
• Must be able to climb ladders, lift up to 40 pounds, and work in small restricted areas.
• English language proficiency reading/writing.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and install seat covers, curtains and various assemblies and subassemblies for aircraft interiors.
• Interpret material specs and drawings to ensure finished product meets design and engineering requirements.
• Sew, fabricate, and install covers for all styles of panels in the aircraft interior to meet safety and quality standards.
• Use the Corridor material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks and sign-off work.
• Work with design/drawings to cut and install advanced custom carpets with unique patterns.
• Mentor and train lesser skilled technicians and monitor their work for safety, quality and productivity.
