JS Solutions in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Aircraft Structural Mechanic III to assess damage and draft repair procedures for structural and composite components. You will use depot level techniques to form, cut, bend, and fasten components and perform precision drilling for high-strength fasteners.

The role requires strong experience with repair design, weight considerations, and QA documentation, with DoD contract experience and the ability to obtain a government clearance.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant aircraft depot level structural maintenance experience.
  • FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant certification a plus.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
  • Experience supporting DoD contracts.
  • Strong reading of engineering drawings and technical documents.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect / assess damage to aircraft structural components and formulate repair procedures.
  • Remove and install close tolerance, high-strength fasteners in major components.
  • Design structural repair with respect to strength, weight and contour.
  • Perform weight and balance checks and control surface rigging.
  • Inspect repairs for serviceability per specifications and publications.
  • Fabricate repair parts using jigs, fixtures, and molds.
  • Document maintenance per QA and regulatory requirements.
