Job summary

Horizon Air is seeking a Maintenance Controller to lead maintenance operations, ensure safety and compliance, and coordinate with flight crews and maintenance teams. You will assess technical data, provide ETRs, and oversee unscheduled aircraft maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires an aircraft mechanic certificate (A&P) with valid ratings, 4 years of maintenance experience, and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 4 years of aircraft maintenance technician experience.
• Must hold a valid aircraft mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings.
• Meet the recent experience requirements of 14 CFR 65.83 (i.e., 6 months experience in the last 24 months).
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and detailed instructions and other technical data.
• Ability to clearly communicate and instruct others.
• Ability to collaborate and successfully perform as a member of a high-functioning team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Ability to work shiftwork including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for the maintenance operation to ensure high standards of safety, compliance, quality and cost.
• Provide technical assistance and support to flight crews experiencing mechanical irregularities on company aircraft.
• Notify MOM upon discovery of FAR non-compliance.
• Coordinate aircraft ferry authorization following policies and procedures.
• Provide accurate Estimated Time for Return (ETR) and advise times for all scheduled and unscheduled out of service aircraft.
• Authorize MEL, CDL, and NEF deferrals.
• Notify MOM or Director of Maintenance Control regarding abnormal situations such as incidents or irregular operations.
